Strategies to Employment Workshop - Edmonton

Enbridge Pipelines and the National Educational Association of Disabled Students (NEADS) invite post-secondary students and graduates with disabilities to a one day interactive forum "Strategies to Employment" to be held in Edmonton, Alberta on March 13, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the King Edward Room, 3rd Floor, Manulife Place Conference Centre, 10180 - 101 Street NW.

During this free event, students and job seekers will have the opportunity to work with recruiters and other career search professionals in developing effective job search strategies including making the right first impression, networking, how to disclose a disability and request accommodation, and knowing what recruiters are looking for in job applicants. The interdisciplinary line-up of presenters includes:

Angela Risdon, Director of Organizational Effectiveness for Enbridge: Enbridge Business and Workplace Culture

Anuya Pai, Alberta Director for NEADS, University of Calgary graduate student in Community Health Sciences: Introduction to NEADS

Analia Rubie, Edmonton Director of MC College: First Impressions

Taryn Gantar and Kristen Doupe, Talent Acquisition Advisors for Enbridge: Networking, The Recruitment Process, Cover Letter and Resume Critique

Darrell Petersen, Senior Legal Counsel for Enbridge Liquids Pipelines, and Alberta Human Rights Commission Legal Expert: Disclosure and Accommodation: What, When, and How?

Lunch, refreshments and breakfast snacks will be provided. Please indicate any dietary requests on the registration page. ASL interpretation will be provided.

Underground parking is available and may be accessed off the east side of 102nd Street south of 102nd Avenue. The attended pay station for transient parkers accepts cash or credit cards. For more information about parking in Manulife Place please call Standard Parking at 780 428-4239.

LRT users may access Manulife Place via pedway from Bay Station and Central Station.
