Surviving Together; A Self-Advocacy Workshop for Disabled Students

Join Students for Barrier-free Access (SBA) for a student-run orientation for disabled students and student advocates. Whether you are an undergraduate or graduate student, full-time or part-time, new or returning, an international or transfer student, this orientation is for you! Come meet other disabled students and SBA members, have a snack, and learn more about self-advocacy and resources for disabled students on campus.

Topics covered at the orientation:
– Know Your Rights as a disabled student – presentation by ARCH Disability Law Centre
– self-advocacy and navigating academic accommodations
– introduction to campus resources and services for disabled students
– introduction to Students for Barrier-Free Access’ resources and services

Date: Wednesday October 11, 2017
Time: 5pm-7pm
Location: 246 Bloor Street West (Factor-Inwentash School of Social Work Building) room 346, 3rd floor

Everyone welcome!
Wheelchair accessible.
Accessible and all-gender washroom located on the same floor as the event room.

SBA works towards eliminating physical, informational and attitudinal barriers on campus.

The SBA Centre is open Monday to Thursday from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM and on Friday from 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
