Description	AMS Mental Health Awareness Committee - Queen's University ~ Free dinner ~ Short films ~ Discussion ~ Oh and did we mention FREE DINNER? ~ Date and Time Thu, 16 March 2017 7:00 PM � 9:00 PM EDT Location: KIN100 On Thursday March 16th, The Mental Health Awareness Committee (MHAC), Queen's For The Boys - #QFTB and Art With Impact are teaming up to bring you the second year of Movies for Mental Health! This workshop strives to increase understanding of mental illness, reduce the stigma of mental illness, aid in building self-compassion, and encourage early intervention. Movies for Mental Health is a program that aims to promote mental wellness by creating a space for individuals to learn and connect through art and media. The event consists of a two-hour workshop featuring interactive discussion among students that lays the groundwork for a meaningful dialogue before diving into a discussion of short films from a media library provided by Art With Impact. The night will conclude with a panel discussion featuring students with experiences with mental illness as well as local campus and community mental health resources. This workshop strives to increase understanding of mental illness, reduce the stigma of mental illness, aid in building self-compassion, and encourage early intervention.
