The World Social Forum 2016:
The Disability, Deaf Culture and Barrier-free Society Committee invites you to participate

For the first time, Montreal welcomes this summer the World Social Forum. From August 9th to 14th, downtown Montreal will be animated by a gathering of nearly 50,000 participants – the largest civil society gathering aiming to find solutions to the problems of our time.

More than a thousand activities:
• A manifestive opening march
• Workshops and conferences
• An agora of the initiatives for another world
• Convergence meetings for action
• Artistic performances
• A Disability, Deaf Culture and Barrier-free Society Space
• Some themes that inspire us: social inclusion, solidarity economy, the environment, human rights, democratization ...

A unique aspect of this World Social Forum: it will be the most concerned about accessibility until now!

The participation of people with disabilities and belonging to the Deaf culture will be on a scale never seen before.

● Why participate in the WSF 2016?
• The issue of disability and deaf culture is linked to all themes. It will be omnipresent and will have a specific space.
• Because we want a society without barriers and without discrimination.
• Austerity has an undeniable impact on all disabled or Deaf people. It affects our fundamental rights to a decent life, physical and moral health, nonviolence and humanizing care and services.

By participating you can drive change by bringing new ideas and helping to change the world!

If you are part of a group or organization, why not organize an activity?
● Express yourself creatively. Suggest an activity on any matter relating to disability and Deaf culture and the 2016 WSF Collective and the Disability, Deaf Culture and Barrier-free Society will help you with logistics, communications and engaging participants
● A follow-up of proposals and impacts through the memory of the WSF
● A concrete and recognized participation in the largest of global civil society gathering
● For more information on the registration process of an activity, contact us handicap.mob@fsm2016.orgmailto:handicap.mob@fsm2016.org
