Diversity@Work is an annual professional conference dedicated to building inclusive and productive workplaces. The conference series evolved from a dynamic presentation given in 2010 by a team of people who are passionate about creating innovative approaches to attracting the best new immigrants to Canadian workplaces. This presentation became an annual conference organized by Skills for Change, a Toronto-based organization known for pioneering programs that respond to shifting immigration and workplace trends and lead to employment.

Our 2016 conference will bring together 275+ attendees and speakers to explore the future of DIVERSITY & INCLUSION STRATEGIES, TOOLS, and BEST PRACTICES in an ever-changing work environment.

What does the future hold?
•The workplace is evolving into an environment that is increasingly diverse, global, and virtual
•A focus on accessibility, multiculturalism, new approaches, and fresh philosophies is required
•Leaders must evolve alongside their workplaces as the generations shift

Our speakers’ lineup of diversity, equity, inclusion, human resource leaders, legal experts and industry thought-leaders will be exploring innovation and change in addressing current and future workplace diversity, equity and inclusion trends and issues. They will also be addressing inter-generational differences, legal perspectives, unconscious biases, sexuality and sexual identity, visible and non-visible disabilities, the impact of technology on workplace diversity, diversity and the marketplace.

Format: The conference will consist of presentations, panel discussions and break-out workshops. Conference attendees will be invited to choose from 8 concurrent workshops and presentations which are designed to designed to highlight current trends in research, latest resources and showcase contemporary initiatives in equity, diversity and inclusion around age, gender, culture and diversity competencies.

Outcomes: Skills for Change will document our findings and disseminate them to a wider audience via social media, newsletters and other outreach initiatives.
