Description	What is the INYLF? The Indiana Youth Leadership Forum is and exciting overnight program based at a local Indianapolis University designed to develop students� with disabilities leadership, legislation and self-advocacy skills to be leaders by example in their own lives and communities. Student will be able to interact and learn from other young individuals with similar and diverse disabilities, spending time learning together about how they can be an advocate for themselves out in the community. OUR MISSION The INYLF will identify students with disabilities who have shown potential leadership and self-advocacy skills. The forum will provide the developmental tools and experiences to become leaders by example. Students will expand their knowledge of the disability culture with exposure and practical opportunities to meet with successful adults who have accomplished and achieved despite their disabilities. Our Main 3 Goals that incorporate these are �Appreciate the PAST.� �Understand the PRESENT.� �Believe in the FUTURE.� THE GOALS OF OUR IYLF - Develop a personal leadership plan to guide the student in future endeavors - Learn about academic and career options - Explore community resources and learn ways to be active and engaged in the community Become familiar with the notions of self-advocacy and self-determination. Once the week is over the expectation is that students will return to their communities with the tools and the resources necessary. YOUTH LEADERSHIP FORUM FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES!!
