NEADS Conference 2004 - Right On!

Membership Meeting

To: All NEADS Members
From: Rachael Ross, President
Subject: General Meeting of Members

On Sunday, November 14th, 2004 the National Educational Association of Disabled Students (NEADS) will be holding a General Meeting of members during our national conference Right On!. This meeting will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the Delta Room at the Delta Ottawa Hotel and Suites (361 Queen Street).

The conference will be an exciting opportunity for: students, consumers, advocates, service providers, employers and all others interested in exploring key issues concerning equal access to higher education. Workshops will address: Human Rights, Inclusion in Campus Life, and Access to Academic Materials for Print-Disabled Students. New this year will be two optional employment-related workshops. We are also working on more surprises.

Finally, NEADS' members will elect a new Board of Directors and the organization will hold its General Meeting of members. The General Meeting is an exciting time when the Board of Directors can share the activities and project work of the organization. Importantly, we get the opportunity to hear from our members. Come out, participate, meet the outgoing Board of Directors and help elect our new Board!

The following is a draft agenda for the meeting:

  1. A Report on Activities and Project Work (Rachael Ross, President)
  2. Financial Report (Alison Beattie, Secretary/Treasurer)
  3. Proposed Amendments to By-Laws
  4. Open Forum
  5. Other Business
  6. Adjournment

Proposed amendments to the by-laws are attached for your information.

For further details on this meeting and the national conference, please contact our office in Ottawa, or go to the conference Website: www.neads.ca/conference2004

I look forward to seeing you in November.

Yours Sincerely,

Rachael Ross, President
